Our conversation after observing in classrooms resulted in the following:
Classroom Debrief -
- Common Theme - deliberate use of sentence starters and prompts and students using them.
- In 3/5 classrooms, there was evidence of Language supports for content, and 4/5 for language
- In 5/5 classrooms, teacher modeled task
- language objectives were stronger when teacher modeling was stronger
- There was evidence of turn and talk in all classrooms
- Generally, there was an increase in the use of anchor charts - and student using them as reference, compared to previous deep dives.All in all, Nancy had positive things to say about our school and the progress we've made this year. Thanks everyone!
